Top 10 Reasons People Hate Twilight

Twilight fans want to know the answer to a very simple question: Why do people hate Twilight? Well, for the past 3 years the entire world has been forced to watch vampires turn into diamond-crusted, sparkling, pretty boys. Thanks to Summit Entertainment, Stephanie Meyer’s flat characters have been transformed from the pages of the novel to the big screen. Now we get to see even more coverage of these outlandish characters… front cover of magazines, cereal boxes, hair products, Skittle bags, Coke boxes, condom boxes Oops that one hasn’t happened yet due to the fact that virginity is held at a very high standard in theTwilight Saga. So here we go… 10 Reasons People Hate Twilight:

Reason #10: Harry Potter Fans Feel Threatened

Before Twilight first hit theaters, there was a lot of talk that the vampire franchise could outperform our beloved boy wizard at the box office. And even though the Harry Potter franchise has come to a bitter sweet ending, the fans still feel the need to stomp all over the poor Twilight fans. Can’t we just all be friends? Lets look at the past box office earnings shall we?… (Click title above to continue reading)

‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′: New Featurette & Poster – The End is Near

For fans of Twilight, November 16th marks both a joyous and upsetting time; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will hit theaters, closing the book on Bella’s final chapter and trials as a vampire, a mother, and a wife. We’ve seen the character come to life through the eyes of Kristen Stewart, and now her story comes full circle. From mortal to immortal, from an emotional tween to a strong, loving, and roundhouse kicking mother, Bella’s journey heads toward the final resolution.

Taking the title as the third most lucrative book-to-film adaptation (behind Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings), The Twilight Saga has garnered an impressive $3.2 billion worldwide. Although many would like to deny this fact, the success only proves that there’s a strong audience for a franchise that many would consider an emo-filled, love-infested, vampire debauchery. However, where there’s money involved, Hollywood will come-a-knocking. Stephenie Meyer proved that her stories and characters were indeed profitable when they flew off the shelves in bookstores worldwide… (Click link above to continue reading)

Twilight to Continue After ‘Breaking Dawn’ – Reboot, TV Series, or Spin-Off?

“They’re already onto the [‘Breaking Dawn’] follow-up.” Those were the words that hit the net this morning from several of Movie Hole’s inside sources.

Last month it was announced that Lionsgate, who acquired the rights to Summit Entertainment this year for $412.5 million, had interest in moving forward withThe Twilight Saga franchise, but only with author Mrs. Stephenie Meyer’s blessings. Several hours later, people voiced their opinions. Would we really have to deal with several more years of this? Perhaps it’s a joke? Promotion for ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′. That seems reasonable… right?

Of course, no one took it seriously, but perhaps we should.

A Spin-Off, Reboot, or TV Series?

Is this a spin off, a reboot, or something entirely different? Last we heard, the studio was rumored to have a reboot in mind. But could a reboot possibly be in the works this early in the game?… (Click title above to continue reading)

3 Spooky Movie Marathons You Must Have Before Halloween

The stores are filled with Halloween decorations. A few fanatics are even starting to decorate, and almost everyone who celebrates Halloween has started talking about costume plans — whether for themselves, their kids, or their pets. Others, like me, have been taking advantage of the seasonal candy selection (because everyone knows chocolate tastes better when it’s shaped like a ghost). But what’s another way to prepare? Rent some scary movies! Either get some friends together or turn off all the lights and scare yourself silly by watching them alone. Here are three movie marathon suggestions to get you into the Halloween mood.  Pro tip: Awesome level increases if watched while in costume.

1. Have a Zombie Marathon

Zombie movies have been around forever, ranging from silly to horrifying. You’ve got your fast zombies, your slow zombies, zombie-viruses spread by bites, by contaminated food, or by airborne bacteria. Well, there are zombie purists who think that the only true zombies are those that pass on the disease by biting people and all the other so-called “zombies” are just wannabes. But if you have one in your friend group who starts grammar nazi-ing the definition, just throw candy corn at them. Here’s a list of must-see walking dead genres to check out: (click title above to continue reading)

‘Hotel Transylvania’ Review: A Grim Treat

As animated films continue to dominate the box office, more directors are introducing a range of genres and characters to this limitless playground. Films that confide to the grim, grotesque, and ghoulish are high in attendance.

It used to be that Tim Burton and Henry Selick were the obvious candidates for creating brilliantly grim animations for Hollywood, but now up-n-coming directors are stepping up to the challenge. Although incredibly different from a Burton or Selick feature, Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania is the most recent addition to this genre.

Released on September 28th of this year, Hotel Transylvaniahas a very different atmosphere than other films humanizing horror with animation. Rather than relying on the more grim and undesirable character attributes that heavily define Burton’s career, the director of Hotel Transylvania, Genndy Tartakovsky, is known for his more cartoonish styled animations, which rely on movement and a different form of weirdness.

Tartakovsky is a man of my generation. He is responsible for creating The Powerpuff Girls (1998-2004),Dexter’s Laboratory (1996-2003) and Samurai Jack (2001-2004). With his sturdy resume in the animation, direction, producing, and writing departments it comes as no surprise that Hotel Transylvania was not a let down… (click title above to continue reading)

‘Vamps’ Trailer: ‘Clueless’ Reunion Adds Comedy & Camp to an Old Tale

Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter have come together in Vampsfor a hilarious perspective on the wildly popular subject of vampires. Goody (Silverstone) and Stacy (Ritter) are pair of party girls who like to get rowdy but there’s one problem — the two have to make sure they are in by dawn, as they are vampires.

Featuring the Clueless star and a little lady you may recognize from Breaking Bad, this movie borders on cheesy and romantic. The story follows the chic vamps move to the Big Apple, their relationship endeavors, and their escape from vampire hunters. Things begin to heat up for the girls when one meets a charming man by the name of Van Helsing. Can’t wait to see how that relationship turns out…. (click title above to continue reading)

Final Trailer for ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′: Bella Tackles a Mountain Lion

You can slam The Twilight Saga for a lot of stuff — cheesy writing, awkward moments, laughable CGI — but you can’t claim that the plot lacks character development, especially since meek and indecisive Bella Swan can be seen tackling a mountain lion in the latest trailer. How much more character development could you possibly want?!

Two nights ago we received the first glimpse at the beginning of the end for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Summit Entertainment teased fans with a 90 second preview at MTV’s Video Music Awards. Just about the entire cast was there to present the new footage… well, everyone except for Kristen Stewart that is.Robert Pattinson was left to do the honors without Stewart by his side. It didn’t help any that only an hour before, host and comedian Kevin Hart addressed the big elephant in the room, but commended Stewart for apologizing for her mistake… (click link above to read more)

The 10 Best Girl Power Movies

Girls rule, boys drool. Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn’t really follow that mantra. But I do… sort of. When I recently looked at my movie collection, I suddenly realized that I wasn’t quite representing the ladies as well as I should be. Being a child of the 90s, I’m well aware of girl power and a fan of a woman who can kick some ass. Now that the Spice Girls are talking about bringing a new musical to the stage, I felt the need to “spice up my life” with a look back at some of my favorite “girly” movies. It is my solemn duty as a woman who loves fantasy, horror, and action movies just as much as a great romantic comedy, to bring you a list that best represents the awesome power of a woman in heels. Note: Though this list only shows 10 great movies featuring the ladies there…

‘Van Helsing’ Reboot Aims for a ‘Dark Knight’ Vibe

For years Universal had plans to rebootHugh Jackman‘s try at the titular Bram Stoker character, Abraham Van Helsing; however, the studio’s attention soon turned to other projects, and the story never really left the ground. Many actors have portrayed the vampire hunter (Peter Cushing, Laurence Olivier, and Anthony Hopkins), but it was back in 2004 that Jackman took on the character with a less-than-satisfying attempt. The Stephen Sommer directed film came off as comical as its CGI, and in the end the film only grossed $120 million domestically and $300 million worldwide, numbers that may have been absent if if weren’t for Jackman’s name. Universal finally got together a team to produce/pen the reboot — Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci — and they’re ready to give the hunter an all new look…
