Twilight fans want to know the answer to a very simple question: Why do people hate Twilight? Well, for the past 3 years the entire world has been forced to watch vampires turn into diamond-crusted, sparkling, pretty boys. Thanks to Summit Entertainment, Stephanie Meyer’s flat characters have been transformed from the pages of the novel to the big screen. Now we get to see even more coverage of these outlandish characters… front cover of magazines, cereal boxes, hair products, Skittle bags, Coke boxes, condom boxes Oops that one hasn’t happened yet due to the fact that virginity is held at a very high standard in theTwilight Saga. So here we go… 10 Reasons People Hate Twilight:
Before Twilight first hit theaters, there was a lot of talk that the vampire franchise could outperform our beloved boy wizard at the box office. And even though the Harry Potter franchise has come to a bitter sweet ending, the fans still feel the need to stomp all over the poor Twilight fans. Can’t we just all be friends? Lets look at the past box office earnings shall we?… (Click title above to continue reading)
David Cronenberg’s latest effort, Cosmopolis, is a lot of things: ballsy, unique, artistic, and baffling. However, this film is not for everyone, and I doubt Cronenberg had a very particular audience in mind; he’s a man known for tickling his own fancy with lavish, and often times, outlandish plots and characters. He’ll leave you wondering, “What the fuck did I just watch?” But a week later you’ll find his bold characters staring you down in a crowd of streetwalkers, “Remember me?” If Cronenberg’s mission was to keep his audience slightly disturbed and confused yet intrigued, the man succeeded.
Those of you attending Cosmopolis just to support Robert Pattinson and his charming looks will not enjoy the film. You might was well stay in your rooms and search for more Pattinson pictures to add to your overflowing collection. Cronenberg challenges his audience to really look past the surface. Glance away for a second and you’ll be lost forever… (Click title above to continue reading)
For fans of Twilight, November 16th marks both a joyous and upsetting time; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will hit theaters, closing the book on Bella’s final chapter and trials as a vampire, a mother, and a wife. We’ve seen the character come to life through the eyes of Kristen Stewart, and now her story comes full circle. From mortal to immortal, from an emotional tween to a strong, loving, and roundhouse kicking mother, Bella’s journey heads toward the final resolution.
Taking the title as the third most lucrative book-to-film adaptation (behind Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings), The Twilight Saga has garnered an impressive $3.2 billion worldwide. Although many would like to deny this fact, the success only proves that there’s a strong audience for a franchise that many would consider an emo-filled, love-infested, vampire debauchery. However, where there’s money involved, Hollywood will come-a-knocking. Stephenie Meyer proved that her stories and characters were indeed profitable when they flew off the shelves in bookstores worldwide… (Click link above to continue reading)
“They’re already onto the [‘Breaking Dawn’] follow-up.” Those were the words that hit the net this morning from several of Movie Hole’s inside sources.
Last month it was announced that Lionsgate, who acquired the rights to Summit Entertainment this year for $412.5 million, had interest in moving forward withThe Twilight Saga franchise, but only with author Mrs. Stephenie Meyer’s blessings. Several hours later, people voiced their opinions. Would we really have to deal with several more years of this? Perhaps it’s a joke? Promotion for ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′. That seems reasonable… right?
Of course, no one took it seriously, but perhaps we should.
Is this a spin off, a reboot, or something entirely different? Last we heard, the studio was rumored to have a reboot in mind. But could a reboot possibly be in the works this early in the game?… (Click title above to continue reading)
The stores are filled with Halloween decorations. A few fanatics are even starting to decorate, and almost everyone who celebrates Halloween has started talking about costume plans — whether for themselves, their kids, or their pets. Others, like me, have been taking advantage of the seasonal candy selection (because everyone knows chocolate tastes better when it’s shaped like a ghost). But what’s another way to prepare? Rent some scary movies! Either get some friends together or turn off all the lights and scare yourself silly by watching them alone. Here are three movie marathon suggestions to get you into the Halloween mood. Pro tip: Awesome level increases if watched while in costume.
Zombie movies have been around forever, ranging from silly to horrifying. You’ve got your fast zombies, your slow zombies, zombie-viruses spread by bites, by contaminated food, or by airborne bacteria. Well, there are zombie purists who think that the only true zombies are those that pass on the disease by biting people and all the other so-called “zombies” are just wannabes. But if you have one in your friend group who starts grammar nazi-ing the definition, just throw candy corn at them. Here’s a list of must-see walking dead genres to check out: (click title above to continue reading)
You can slam The Twilight Saga for a lot of stuff — cheesy writing, awkward moments, laughable CGI — but you can’t claim that the plot lacks character development, especially since meek and indecisive Bella Swan can be seen tackling a mountain lion in the latest trailer. How much more character development could you possibly want?!
Two nights ago we received the first glimpse at the beginning of the end for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Summit Entertainment teased fans with a 90 second preview at MTV’s Video Music Awards. Just about the entire cast was there to present the new footage… well, everyone except for Kristen Stewart that is.Robert Pattinson was left to do the honors without Stewart by his side. It didn’t help any that only an hour before, host and comedian Kevin Hart addressed the big elephant in the room, but commended Stewart for apologizing for her mistake… (click link above to read more)
In the realms of Hollywood, often times redundant usage of film strips reveal only what a million others have already revealed; the story has been seen over and over again with nothing to make the film stand out from others alike. One that has recently followed in the many mundane footsteps is Bel Ami. Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, this film at first glance seemed noteworthy. The cast alone is beautiful enough to be arrested with attention, yet the film does not give the viewer enough to stay focused on. The pace is slow and the story line is even more of a disappointment.
Released earlier in the year, Bel Ami tells the story of a young man named Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson) who moved to Paris in hopes of making his fortune. As the ex-British military man begins his journey he unexpectedly meets an old acquaintance, Charles Forestier (Phillip Glenister), who gives the young man a break by allowing him to write an article for his newspaper. With this new chance for success, Georges Duroy begins his rise to power in the great city of Paris. The only thing holding him back is himself. His seductive demeanor and good looks allow him to manipulate the city’s most… (click link above to continue)
There was nothing short of excitement as the cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 were the first to open the festivities at San Diego’s Comic-Con 2012. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart,Taylor Lautner, Mackenzie Foy, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, and Stephenie Meyer were the first to grace the movie panel in Hall H.
As this is the last Comic-Con for the franchise, devoted fans lined up in anticipation for what would be one memorable afternoon. According to MTV News, Summit Entertainment screened the first 7 minutes of the film, and another clip which showed Bella Swan as a vampire. Meyer also gave fans a sneak peak into her upcoming film, Host. Several sources reported that the event was full of laughter and awe, as the actors began to reveal information into the final chapter… (Click the link above to read more)
Pictures from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2(in theaters Nov. 16th) are starting to roll in. FromEntertainment Weekly, we get a sneak peek of the Cullen family’s newest addition, Renesmee. Twilight fans did get a teensy glimpse of her in Breaking Dawn — Part 1 when Jacob Black had a vision of Renesmee growing up, but this is the first we’ve seen of her since then. Named after Bella’s mother Renee and Edward’s mother Esme, Renesmee (pronounced reh-nez-may) will be played
Another awards show, another pissed off fan. This year’s MTV Movie Awards marked the last time that a Harry Potter movie would be up for an award. Or at least, any award that I cared about. I’ve been a huge fan of the books since I was 11 years old, so this movie franchise was incredibly important to me. I’ve been to nearly every midnight showing, even dressing up as a Hogwarts student. The last movie adaptation, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, premiered July 15th. And boy did I enjoy it in my special 3D Harry Potter glasses. I laughed, I cried, and I left feeling like part of my childhood was over. Unfortunately for Harry Potter fans everywhere, Stephanie Meyers had to write a crazy popular book and have it adapted into a movie around the same time. You may have read some of my feelings aboutTwilight before but let me make it perfectly clear: I HATE ALL THINGS TWILIGHT WITH A FIERY PASSION.
