Jamie Foxx In Talks to Play Villain Electro in ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′

This is one bit of news I don’t think anyone saw coming, especially today. Django Unchained star, Jamie Foxx is indeed in early talks to star as the/one of the main villains of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Earlier this year, Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man rebooted the web-slinging franchise with much success. Instead of kicking off the story with the obvious villain, The Green Goblin, Webb went with The Lizard — a choice that had many questioning the reboot from the start. Shailene Woodley is Spider-Man’s Mary Jane & May Star in ‘Divergent’

Shailene Woodley is on fire right now!

Last week it was confirmed that the 20-year-old actress was in talks for the role of Mary Jane Watson for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 & 3. And today Sony made their decision –Woodley has been cast as Peter Parker’s feisty red-head love interest, but the news doesn’t stop there.

Fans of Veronica Roth’s Divergent rejoiced today as Summit Entertainment moved forward with casting. Summit purchased the film rights to the young author’s first novel back in April 2012, and they’re now ready to push things forward to preproduction. So where does Woodley fall in?

Well, she’s currently in talks to play the novel’s 16-year-old protagonist, Tris. Fans of bothSpider-Man and Divergent seem pleased with the announcements. Comedy Duo Tina Fey & Amy Poehler to Host Golden Globes!

Fans of both comedy and improv are cheering loudly today as it was announced last night that BFFs and collaborators Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been chosen to host the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards on NBC in January.

The show will reunite the ladies on stage once again, as their friendship spans back to the days of their performances with the Second City Improv Troupe in Chicago. Since then, it’s been a match made in heaven.

After a two year run, Ricky Gervais won’t make a dash for third base as the ladies of comedy stop him in his tracks!

Fey and Poehler have worked together on numerous projects but their professional relationship began back in 2001, when Poehler joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. At that time, Fey was a lead writer at SNLand had just begun to make appearances in several sketches.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ Casts a Villain and a Comedian

Great Odin’s raven! The next sequel in the Marvel universe, Thor: The Dark World, has been busy casting new and old faces for it’s next phase. While one villain has already been announced, Malekith the Accursed played by Christopher Eccleston, it seems that Thor’s going to have to battle more than one bad guy. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has just been placed in the role of Algrim the Strong, a dark elf who works with his elf friend Malekith. According toVariety, “In the comic books, Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves, who is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor. After he’s betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse, who is twice as a strong as Thor.” That certainly doesn’t sound good for our hammer-wielding hero.

The man who might beat the crap out of Thor is someone you probably recognize even if you can’t pronounce his name. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been in several different movies including Ace Venture: When Nature Calls, The Mummy Returns, The Bourne Identity, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and the 2011 re-make of The Thing. He’s also been in some beloved television shows Oz (as Simon Adebisi) and Lost (as Mr. Eko). I think that list of credits makes it clear that he will be an awesome villain. It will be interesting to see someone who is supposed to be stronger than the Thunder God (besides that dude who is big, green, and very angry). While plot details are a little thin on the ground (besides what the comic book nerds can tell us), I hope that Algrim/Kurse will put up an awesome fight…(clink link above to read more)

Sam Worthington May Join Schwarzenegger in ‘Ten’ – Terminator Reunion?

Terminator Salvation star, Sam Worthington andTerminator star, Arnold Schwarzenegger may join forces in an upcoming film. No, it’s not aTerminator reunion, thank God. Instead, Worthington is currently in talks to join the cast of David Ayer’s (Training Day) drug cartel action-thriller, Ten.

According to Variety, if his reps can come to agreement with QED International about the actor’s paycheck, Worthington is expected to take the offer. The Skip Wood penned script takes liberty with Agatha Christie’s Ten Little Indians plot and involves ”an elite DEA task force that robs a dangerous drug cartel under the guise of a tactical raid on one of its safe houses. They think they’ve gotten away with millions in merch, until team members begin getting bumped off one by one.”

Ten is only one of several films in Schwarzenegger’s efforts to refuel his acting career; the ex-California governor is also set to star in The Expendables 2,The Tomb, The Last Stand, and The Unknown Soldier. Good thing there are some dedicated Schwarzenegger fans out there. It may be just enough to keep the fire burning… (click link above to read more)

Iron Man 3 is only a week or so into production in North Carolina, and already spoilers are being leaked left and right. The latest potential spoiler to be revealed is that a particular red, white, and blue version of Iron Man’s armor will be featured in next summer’s sure-to-be blockbuster.

Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini & Ray Loitta ‘Killing Them Softly’ at Cannes

 As one of the best and most famous actors to date, Brad Pitt has brilliantly portrayed characters for audiences to enjoy since before the early 90s. From one of my personal all time favorite films Fight Club to Snatch and Inglorious Bastards, the man is a complete movie genius. When his name is featured on the silver screen, chances are the film will be a success.

Those who attended this year’s Cannes Film Festival gave the Pitt-produced film positive reviews. The performance by the film’s three stars are already creating an early pre-award season buzz. Fortunately for audiences all around, Pitt’s good looks and smooth talking demeanor will hit theaters September 21, 2012, hoping again to create another successful piece in his great career.
