This is one bit of news I don’t think anyone saw coming, especially today. Django Unchained star, Jamie Foxx is indeed in early talks to star as the/one of the main villains of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Earlier this year, Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man rebooted the web-slinging franchise with much success. Instead of kicking off the story with the obvious villain, The Green Goblin, Webb went with The Lizard — a choice that had many questioning the reboot from the start. For the second installment, Webb visited the comics of 1964, back when Stan Lee and Steve Ditko first gave birth to Max Dillon’s alter ego, Electro… (CLICK TITLE ABOVE TO CONTINUE READING)
Over the years, 20th Century Fox has refused to give fans the Wolverine they’ve come to know and love from the comics of the past and present. It was clear when writer Len Wein & artists Herb Trimpe first introduced the character back in ’74 & ’75 that Wolverine was a man with a troubled past, which the films have explored repeatedly. However, the films have failed to capture the character’s true rage and hunger. Thankfully, director James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) is looking to change that.
Both Hugh Jackman and Mangold sat down in a live chat with Marvel’s Ryan Penagos to talk about The Wolverine, which you should know is not a prequel, but will instead take place after X-men: The Last Stand making it a sequel. Let’s hope this film doesn’t screw up the X-men timeline even further as it’s a problematic point that X-men: Days of Future Past will have to work… (Click title above to continue reading)
For the past couple of days, Marvel has been teasing us with the first poster, a look at The Mandarin, and trailers for the trailer (all of which you can see here). The wait is over! Early this morning Marvel Studios and Disney released the very first trailer for the highly anticipated Iron Man sequel and the first film to launch Marvel’s Phase Two.
Ho-Lee Smokes!
What an awesome thing to wake up to this morning. The trailer definitely raises a lot of questions, but hey, that’s what a movie trailer is supposed to do. The trailer gives the feeling that the film will be dark and serious, and is trying to steer away from the comedic vibe of the first two in franchise.
It’ll definitely be interesting to see what direction the series takes since switching directors from Jon Favreau to Shane Black. Marvel Executive and Producer Kevin Feige has said in interviews, that we’ll see Tony Stark at his most broken since he was captive in a cave in the opening act of the first Iron Man film, and from the looks of the first trailer, that’s exactly what’s going to happen… (Click title above to continue reading)
The franchise that started it all for Marvel Entertainment is currently experiencing one of the largest promotional efforts for a superhero film. It’s expected that Iron Man 3 will be one of Marvel’s biggest films to date, but how big? How much will the extravaganza gross at the box office? Well, it’s too early to guess just yet, but hopefully the new footage and poster can give us some type of hint.
Forget just releasing the teaser trailer randomly, Marvel Entertainment’s promotional team is going all out for Iron Man 3. They know exactly how to get the fan boys and girls going.Within a period of 24 hours, we’ve received one new poster and two new teasers to the full length teaser trailer, which will premiere Tuesday 12:01 a.m. PST. EST viewers, looks like we received the short end of the stick this time around… (Click title above to continue reading)
Dredd. The name strikes fear and, well, dread into the hearts of the 800 million residents of Mega City One. The only force of order in this city where 17,000 crimes are reported every day lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury, and instant executioner. That is the basis of the popular British comic magazine ’2000 AD’, which first featured Judge Dredd in 1977. Since then, Judge Dredd has been a staple of the magazine, been the star of his own spin-off comic, spawned several video games, and even inspired the 1995 film of the same name starring Sylvester Stallone as Judge Dredd. Now Dredd is back in this darker take on the character, with plenty of blood, gore, and enough justice to satisfy the Judge in all of us…. (click title above to continue reading)
Could it be that since The Avengers kicked ass at the box office this summer, Hollywood is looking to adapt more superhero ensembles? There are talks of a Justice League movie in the works, and now with The Metal Men being announced, it looks like DC is trying to build up their own movie universe. Whether it would be a shared movie universe likeMarvel has, or one where each movie stands alone is unclear.
DC also looks to be trying to portray their superheroes as realistic as possible (Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise and Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel), so it will be interesting to see how realistic six morphing robots can be made out to be. If that’s the case, is Sonnenfeld really the man for the job? The director of Men in Black also brought us RV and Wild Wild West…
Iron Man 3 is only a week or so into production in North Carolina, and already spoilers are being leaked left and right. The latest potential spoiler to be revealed is that a particular red, white, and blue version of Iron Man’s armor will be featured in next summer’s sure-to-be blockbuster.
I can already hear what you are thinking: “Why does Captain America need an Iron Man suit?” Well, he doesn’t. While this suit may look like the familiar Avenger, it is actually the Iron Patriot. For those of you who do not regularly read comics…
‘The Avengers’ Movie Review: Avengers Assemble! Hulk… SMASH
From the story line and the computer graphics to the characters and the cinematography, The Avengers is brilliantly mesmerizing. This film is by far the best work from Marvel to date.
