Judging ‘Dredd 3D’

Dredd. The name strikes fear and, well, dread into the hearts of the 800 million residents of Mega City One. The only force of order in this city where 17,000 crimes are reported every day lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury, and instant executioner. That is the basis of the popular British comic magazine ’2000 AD’, which first featured Judge Dredd in 1977. Since then, Judge Dredd has been a staple of the magazine, been the star of his own spin-off comic, spawned several video games, and even inspired the 1995 film of the same name starring Sylvester Stallone as Judge Dredd. Now Dredd is back in this darker take on the character, with plenty of blood, gore, and enough justice to satisfy the Judge in all of us…. (click title above to continue reading)
